Lost in the Pelvis

"An artist can choose to reinterpret reality in any manner he sees fit. Lost in the Pelvis is part of an ongoing series dealing with the phenomena of Southwestern art... I choose to use the existing icons of the Sante fe/Taos corridor -- R.C. Gorman, the ubiquitous Mr. Howling Coyote, and, in this case, the Divine Georgia O -- to create a reality that seems more honest and topical than the one presently on display in this hotbed of western artistic expression. Plus, if my work blatantly looks like the above mentioned artists, people might think I'm a real good artist, and my work may become phenomenally popular. In a world of infinite choices, that's one choice I could live with." --B. Amundson
