Cheney Studio
Egg tempera on wood, 36” x 38”, 1998

This painiting was done during a six-week stay at the MacDowell Artist Colony in Peterborough, NH. During the first week, New England was frozen under a massive ice storm, and there was no power in my studio. The wood burning stove got the room very warm by mid-day. I worked on black and white drawings, which were easier to see in the winter light.
