The Lady with the Two-faced Kitten
Pen and ink, 8.5 x 6 inches, 2006
Private collection
Every so often another two-faced kitten appears in the news. It is actually quite a rare phenomenon, but when it does happen now the news spreads so rapidly over the
Internet that it seems to be increasing in frequency. The creatures often do not live very long, but there have been several two-faced cats who managed to survive into
adulthood.
Just by sheer coincidence, as I was finishing this drawing yet another two-faced pussycat was all over the news.
This drawing was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's 1485 painting The Lady with an Ermine, in the collection of the
Muzeum Czartoryskich in Krakow, Poland.
